Fuente el Caño

This, together with the Serillas spring, was where a pumping system was installed, previously the entire spring was closed to protect it.

The bombs are manual, in the style of those we are used to seeing in American western movies. They are operated by raising and lowering the lever, providing a clean, fresh water jet. The trigger was the years of drought, when the source reached such a low level that it could not be adequately exploited.

The pump facilitates extraction and protects the source from evaporation and contamination, thus maintaining its water year-round. Drawing water with these systems quickly takes us back to an antiquity that seems remote, but that is closer than we think, since the automation of all these systems is rather modern.
